OK – I’ll fly by the seat of my pants here… looks to me like you’ve sharpened the background and given a slight blur to the model. This works in increasing the contrast in texture and bringing the figure forward from the background but… it feels a little unnatural – the impression of soft diffused light falling on the figure doesn’t tally with the harsh directional light in the background.
By burning the candle at both ends it looks unnatural – leaving the figure as it was and just sharpening the background would likely have been enough,
Ok – now tell me that isn’t what you did
That aside though the composition and concept are very strong!
